Youth Services – Masjid Omar Bin Khatab

Masjid Omar Bin Khattab was established in 1992 by the efforts of a diverse group of brothers in the downtown Toronto area. Living in a troubled neighbourhood with a large muslim population, the muslim community was in need of a masjid.

BABU: Initiated in 2003 with a group of brothers and sisters. BABU stands for Big Akhi Big Ukhti; their goal was to be a mentorship and leadership program for the troubled muslim youth in the community. Click here to visit our Gallery

In the past they have had summer classes for children, conducted by their trained leadership youth, Eid Parties for children, Ramadan Programs for Youth, Brother and Sister’s Halaqah, etc.

The Masjid has supported the efforts of youth to have programs and services for the youth in the community.

These dedicated youth, Masha Allah, have brought over 100 children and youth to events that they host and plan. Due to their efforts, the congregation consists of a large youth population. The youth often invite the imam and elders of the masjid to attend.
